Audio Technica ATH-PDG1 for $155 AUD? Alternatives?

I am in need of a new headset/headphones for use on my Xbone and PC, I mainly play CS:GO and Forza, and listen to a wide variety of music. I would like a mic build in although I could lie without a built in mic if it meant much better savings.

 

Currently the Audio Technica ATH-PDG1 is on sale for $155 at JBHIFI, and I am wondereing if it is a good deal, or should I get something else like Audiotechnica ATH-ad500x, which are the same price, excluding shipping, or, something like Steelseries 9H, which are much more expensive ($229), or should I get something completey different.

Pretty much any proper audio company is better than gaming brand headsets

 

I am not sure, probably sometihng in that range yeah, maybe even like m50x drivers, im not sure tbh

 

Linus did a review and said they sounded good but the head mount was meh, and they were too expensive

I suspect they have the M20X or M30X, maybe M40X if you're lucky

I don't think there actually is a headphone to directly compare with it either, it has 44mm drivers, while the M50X has 45mm ones, and all those below have 40mm drivers.

 

Oh and actually if you want something better. PCCGs got the Seheiser GAME ONEs at $180 which is a great deal (not as open as the ATs, but not completely closed either but equal overall sound quality to the AG1/ADG1s): https://www.pccasegear.com/products/27836

I'd say so, I got my ATH-ADG1s at that price (pretty much identical deal) and I'm glad that i did. Should be considerably better than the 9Hs as well

I got mine on special from mwave a couple weeks ago for $139. Tbh they are a pretty good headset. They are light and comfy and they don't suffocate your head which is gr8 in aus (fkn 40 degree days twice in two weeks...) I prefer the mic over the big boom thing on the sennheiser ones but idk about sound quality in comparison. They aren't as good as my m50x's but are gr8 with games.

AKG K7XX paired with AntLion ModMic 4.0

 very hard to beat that combo 

Modmic 4 is $60 over here, and I don't think I can get the K7XX's easily, so way out of my budget :P
