AMD FX 6300 or 8320

I am planning to build a pc and i'm looking at the fx-6300 for gaming but i was just wondering if getting the fx-8320 would increase my gaming performance i am on a pretty tight budget so if the difference inst a lot  i don't want to spend the extra money but if is is then i would be willing to do it thanks.

What is your budget? Neither of those CPUs are very good for gaming.

Not true.

OP don't get an FX chip for gaming.

You don't want to waste your money and regret it later.

Save your money, get a CPU that's not from 2011/2012, you'll be much happier.

I'd rather take an unlocked CPU over a gimped out i3 so it doesn't bog down while gaming and running apps. But I'm sure you'll tell me that it's better because intel and stronger IPC etc, yet I've no issues on my FX 8350, my friend has no issues on his 970 krait edition mobo with a 6300, etc.

Since when did something being stronger mean that the latter has to have problems?

If you're happy with your gaming experience, you won't necessarily notice any problems, will you?

Not entirely true. I could be happy spending £300 on a gaming pc for it to stutter etc, that is a problem even if like I said I was happy... The whole FX is shit commenting on this site needs to die in a fire because you can game with them.

For the love of god don't get an i3 of any form for gaming, at least get an i5 4xxx or i5 6xxx if you decide to go Intel.

I thought that dual cores had some trouble running some games

While they aren't as powerful as quad cores, as long as they are hyperthreaded they will run fine.

Everything that runs on an i5 will run on an i3 due to its hyperthreading, but not that smootly if it a game that utilizes all cores

Mobas, cs:go and games of that nature will run on ultra no problems. Games like farcry, fallout will have some stuttering here and there, but nothing more

I thought that dual cores had some trouble running some games

In the case of Far Cry 4, they deliberately didn't allow for the use of dual core CPUs(except for Core i3's). People had to create a way around it to make something like a Pentium or Celeron work with it.
