It is their computer to do with what they wish, but selling it on ebay for a quick buck does seem a little messed up.

Its a shame that this person won the PC if it was their intention to sell it. There are many users here on ancient machinary who would have valued the PC and not sold it for profit

The person is well within their rights to do so however

"It should be able to run the most demanding games with all settings maxed out and achieve +100FPS on ALL games. In less demanding games, FPS will range in the hundreds and for some even in the thousands"

obviously a guy who wins a PC from a tech forum knows absolutely NOTHING about computers.

"If it has tits or tires, at some point you will have problems with it." -@vinyldash303

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Wow you negative ones are a fine bunch........ "He didn't deserve the PC if he's gunna sell it..."

He didn't state a reason, but he could very well have a good reason for doing so

Consider the theoretical reasons and don't instantly judge him.

You never know..... his Mom could have been hit by a truck (or whatever) and needs costly medical assistance in a hurry. <-- What would you do...?

People are so quick to judge....

But your all no doubt correct anyway.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

While that might in theory be correct i am 99.9% certain thats not the case

What the FUCK. He didn't deserve that PC.

Why do all the bad people always win gud stufz?

It's his to do with what he wants.

TBH, if I won one of the giveaway PCs, I would just strip the parts that I want, then sell everything else.

I'd rather put the money towards a new car than have another high end PC in the house.

I'm PM'ing slick to have you banned from all giveaways. (jk)

Seriously though, when you win something like that, it's part of LTT history, not just a few PC parts put together.

I'd admit, for the one-off builds where a lot of custom work is done, then I'd be more inclined to keep it, but for something you can put together yourself, I'd sell most of it.

I agree, but its something likely no one here wants to consider cos their all too angry.

The choice of his is stupid and ignorant.

Well not to judge him much, but advertising his PC as able to run in the "Thousands" range seems to tell me how much of a good guy he is.

Also the build was 6 months ago, he obviously lied about using it for 2 weeks.

His parents may be selling it because of bad grades/misbehavior.

His house might have been hit by a metor and he needs the money to buy a new roof

He might have found an injured kitten and needs the money to save it

Its far more likely he wants the money

If thats the case then they suck. If your child misbehaved at a museum would you deface the mona lisa as punishment? Then what gives them the right to destroy a masterpiece of computing, and a piece of LTT history?

Don't do drugs. Do hugs!

So what? His computer now, he can do what he wants with it. It's a shame he won it and is selling it, but why the fuck does it matter to you people.

He's tried to sell it before too. I agree it's his to do what he wants, but I feel like he just enters giveaways and just sells when he wins.
