If I was personally buying one I'd probably pay like $140 for one.

You'd have to bundle a motherboard with it for it to actually sell because I believe they do not sell anymore Z77/Z67 motherboards anymore (obviously not in production)

I bought mine for the equivalent of $200. That was a year ago, though.

 

Certainly worth it compared to, say, an i5. in IPC mine still beats Skylake i5s hand over fist, especially overclocked, so I'm happy. And I got an Extreme9 Z77 for $75, so that kind of makes up for any better deal that people could have gotten the chip for.

Oh yeah! My PC is having its birthday in a few days! Yay!

He obviously (IMO) means 2600K OC'd and Skylake @ stock.

Any Ivy bridge onwards than can also OC decently, will surpass it.

Him comparing his i7 to an i5 made it seem otherwise. But if you're right then unless he has his 2600k at 4.9 (which wasn't even a stretch for sandy) then I still don't see it beating a stock 6600k.

I have the same exact board - I got it for $120 CAD.

 

Incredibly ovepriced - might as well go for Skylake.
