Is the EVGA SuperNEX 750 good?

YT2002

I need to build a PC for a friend of mine and was wondering if the EVGA SuperNEX 750 was any good.

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

Does he run two GPU's now or in the future? If not, then go for an 500W/550W/600W from EVGA/Seasonic or Corsair.

Interesting links. Never had any issues with my NEX1500 Classified, other than the silly price :P Any idea when they stopped selling this model and introduced the 1600 T2/P2/G2?

The NEX 1500W Classified is a Etasis OEM unit, not the same FSP unit as most of the G1 series. Also, the G1 series isn't bad, just mediocre/satisfactory. It doesn't have to be top of the line to not have issues with it.

It's not great. The GS/G2 series from EVGA is much better.

Do you guys know of a decent PSU for about $100 AUD that can handle a  i5 6400 and a r9 380?

Yea I was aware mine is not FSP, would never have gotten it otherwise. Just didn't realize mines already dead and buried, didn't buy it all that long ago.

500w is fine for a r9 380 + i5 6400 with a decent OC on both

Heh damn, my bad.

FYI on the power requirements. The highest sustained usage on my system is 600W with 800W peaks doing extreme load testing. Suspect you need less than you think you might, not by much though, wouldn't buy anything less than 550W.

CPU: i7 4930k

GPU: 2x R9 290X

Fans: 8 EKWB FF5-120

Pump: D5 (always on max)
