Beats Music is shutting down this month

Apple is shutting down Beats Music for good on November 30th, at which point subscribers will have to move over to Apple Music if they want to keep using their music library and playlists. Beats Music hasn't been accepting new subscribers since around the time Apple Music went live on iOS, so its shut down has just been a matter of time. But now that Apple Music is available on Android, Apple seems to be ready to fully shift Beats Music users over to its new service. Beats Music provides a migration tool, which will let anyone who's still using it move everything they've already set up over to Apple Music. Those who don't will have their subscription canceled.

The writing has been on the wall for Beats Music ever since Apple bought the company and launched its own streaming service, Apple Music. The end is now coming: on November 25th, the not-quite-two-year-old service will end.

 
According to Engadget, Apple is emailing the last remaining subscribers, encouraging them to jump ship over to Apple Music. That should enable current Beats Music users to transfer all their playlists and preferences, so the only sticking point is Sonos compatibility with Apple Music, which is coming ‘soon’.

Well, I'm not sure whether there are any Beats Music subscribers here, but I don't think this will impact the market that much

It simply can't compete with Sound Cloud nor Spotify, it's due to the fact that it's interface is poorly done and its concept isn't as consumer-friendly as its competitors 

The funniest thing is the thing that really made it obsolete was Apple's own streaming service

I hope Beats shuts down as a whole.

 

If I see one more kid in Walmart crying for Beats headphones, I may just leave the planet.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

No then we will have something even worse like the icones and we'll have to listen to that idiot Jony Ive talk about how they have designed the icone so it directs sound right into the ear canal like no other headphone has done before. They are so refined they are like cones of silence and cones of sound because when you put them on you can't hear anyone except for the amazing sound. And guess what they have done, yes they have done something so revolutionary instead of using a traditional 3.5mm jack that is an industry standard it uses the revolutionary lighting connector so you can only get the sound from your iphone or ipad because fuck you :).

Beats is just bad in general.

Well, I'm not sure whether there are any Beats Music subscribers here, but I don't think this will impact the market that much

It simply can't compete with Sound Cloud nor Spotify, it's due to the fact that it's interface is poorly done and its concept isn't as consumer-friendly as its competitors 

The funniest thing is the thing that really made it obsolete was Apple's own streaming service

 

I think the reason why Apple paid so much money for Beats was because of it's streaming service, not so much for their headphones.
