970 non m in laptops?

Tigercub72

As the title states I was wondering when/if full non 'm' graphics cards go in laptops specifically the Razer Blade.

Is this likely or simply a dream.

Thanks

Oh ok. Im more looking for a portable laptop like the Razer Blade. Its a LOT thinner and is not watercooled or anything so would this limit them from putting it in?

I dont think so, but seeing that nVidia is trying to make their mobile GPUs as powerful as thier desktop GPUs, I wouldn't count that out as possibility.

That's would be impossible though, at least in today's standards.

Well, you've got to make concessions somewhere...

Do you favour portability like with the Razer Blade, or unrestrained power like in the laptops in that video above?

Because there's no way in heaven that you're going to get a desktop-grade 970 in a laptop as thin as the Razer Blade, unless it was somehow cooled with magic.

Just get a laptop that has the 980M; it's near as damnit a 970.

You...you should rethink that statement.

So i've already got a desktop with a r9 390 in it and I was just wanting a laptop thats portable (Take it friends houses and whatnot, while also using it for school) but still has power to it. The Blade is the perfect size but is it enough to play like Farcry 4?

I don't see why it wouldn't...it's a 980M, after all. It's basically a 970 but in a laptop. There's nary a thing stopping it from working, frankly.

Yes, my laptop has a 950m and I have no problems when I play the occasional MGSV5: TPP mission. That being said, MGSV5 is optimized like crazy for pc.

I have no idea what you're talking about. 980M, 970M, and 960M are all classified as GPUs.

That's not what he meant...

Basically, you know how NVIDIA had a closed press conference of sorts regarding the 980 a couple months back? They managed to get the 980 into laptops, specifically the GPU itself.

I'm fairly sure even he knows that to go out, buy a 970 and try to plop it in a laptop and expect it to work would be......hilarious but ultimately dysfunctional.
