Power Supply for i5 and 390

RyanMacRocks

I will be getting an R9 390 soon, but have not been able to find an accurate TDP for the card. Some state that it is 250 Watts, while others say it's 500 Watts at full load. In short, what power supply would you recommend for a 4590 and 390? Or could I squeeze by with my 500 Watt EVGA one (I can already see everybody saying no to this, but oh well.) Obviously cheaper is better, but I want something that will be reliable for a long time.

Main PC: i5 4590 @ 3.5 GHz ♦ RX 480 Armor OC ♦ 16 GB DDR3 ♦ GA-Z97-HD3 ♦ 120 GB 840 EVO ♦ 120 GB Intel 520 ♦ W10 Home

Scrapyard PC: Xeon X5460 @ 3.8 GHz ♦ HD 7870 ♦ 8 GB DDR2 ♦ GA-P35-DS3L ♦ 80 GB Intel 320 ♦ 160 GB WD Caviar SE ♦ W10 Home

Go with a Seasonic PSU. You can get one for $80-$120, depending on the wattage.

Ok, but how many Watts do I need?

I would go to 600 or 750 if possible, The cost may not be any much more than a 500. That gives you upgrading capabilities and overclocking capabilities.

A 4590 and 390 will hit 350W if you overclock the card. So EVGAs GS/G2/B2/GQ will be great.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

Your current psu should be enough.
