So it's a regular GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC but with a Fallout 4 themed backplate. Funny enough, it doesn't come with the game

 

Looks to be a Best Buy exclusive item.

this is mostly likely to ship cards, some places will do custom back-plates, and EVGA along wither every other board partner will probably keep it that way. it's too costly for a sizable company to stop and make a new made-to-order backplate for a card.

I'm fully aware of that. but they're in competition with the 390(s). this gives them an advantage in the eyes of fallout fans (which seem to be one of the most die hard fanbases (aside from COD, BF, and CS) I've ever seen)

In fairness to EVGA yes it does look pretty nice indeed. We should be seeing a lot more steam punk pc builds with this one, maybe an EK block and copper tubing too.

well, given that AMD didnt have any drivers for Fallout 4, everyone who saw the initial reviews will see that Nvidia does better, and assume AMD never will catch up.

Indeed, its one of the (if not THE) biggest issues AMD has to deal with moving forward.

well, given that they are about to release their massive yearly feature patch, i guess its to be expected of them to delay the Fallout optimizations so that they arrive alongside the patch.

Well, the game itself is not in a perfect state right now either. Some people are having problems with the game, I've also noticed weird texture bugs (there's even a brief bug with the face disappearing). So, I would think AMD's driver aren't the only problems (and most likely not the main problem) for players .

They aren't. No one intelligent denies this, but perception is important and right now on the surface it looks like amd blew chunks here. It is and isn't amds fault that day 1 performance matters, but there cannot be denying that in the medium to long term, it is going to be one of the hardest issues to address.
