Is iomega still around?

Anyway I can't take any of your opinions because you did not do it via the form meaning they are more opionated and less factual and you talking about product quality as well as warranty.

However this may still be useful.

But they are interesting because HP was unhelpful but they sent a guy for 3 hours(!!!) To try and fix the issue

Motherboard consumed too many watts?! What? And did you try updating the bios?

Asus in many parts of the world is useless for warranty. In many cases they will refuse to even talk to you and tell you to do it with the retailer. My guess is they outsource it in Italy to a good company (because of this I ask you if you could possibly get me the rails of the EAH6870)

about iomega, yes, it's still around, as a part of lenovo. Last time i had to send something back, they had their own channel.

about hp, these things did not happen here, but i can tell you that the same product, when you are in some states, they send the guy to your location, but in italy you have to take back to the reseller and then it will be shipped to them. In some cases you can ship to them, or ups will take it at your house. But most likely (when they do not tell you lies about your product just because they do not want to repair it) they change the motherboard, and then you'll be without drivers, so no working windows anymore.

Motherboard could not handle the wattage of the higher end amd cpu listed in the manual. The Cpu listed as compatible in manual was 100W, but the motherboard could handle only 60W (don't remember the wattage, since i don't remember the products, but you get the idea, and that was ridiculous, IMHO)

About Asus, i was the reseller. Seriously, here their customer care for computers is awesome, for mobile phones, they will take a bit more (always around 30 days, as everyone) but they usually give a brand new phone.

The thing that surprised me more is that what here is really bad, there is good, and vice-versa

That is why I like to list the country beside the entry that way it is more useful

(and you are a reseller so you get better service)

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

I guess so. I wonder at what point I can have them be liable for the consistently failed shipments.

Shit.

Guess i'll just ask WD to use a different courier.

Also do you think you should update the first score since the replacement still had issues (and this one for that matter, unless I can fix them myself).

If you can pick up a package from a store or pick-up center(Newegg), do it.  xD

I guess I could arrange to pick it up at their collection center, it's about 2h away.

I thought that everyone says Asus warranty is crap, but they are sending me a new monitor when also picking my current one and all I had to do was email them a photo of my dead pixels.

Edit - its coming tomorrow morning. Also using DPD who are fantastic amd better than any other courier (1 hour delivery timeslot, safe spot if your not in, and an app to easily track current and view all past deliveries).

Also their prices are very competitive, I honestly dont know how other couriers are still in business in the UK.

Got my replacement monitor today. One small problem though is that I packed my old one into its original box and swapped it, and the new box had an instruction label for the courier that was meant to be returned with my old one, which I now still have oops. I emailed Asus to let them know.

New monitor has exactly ZERO dead pixels, yay! But at first the colours were terrible and I thought I had gotten a dud screen, but then I remembered I had to calibrate it. Went into the OSD, and it was pre set to German, with the colour settings on user 100% in all RGB, indicating that most likely its a refurb that was repaired and pre tested at 100% colour saturation. But it works, and after I set the colour calibration to the normal setting, its the same as my previous one was minus the dead pixels, and theres no damage or any problems on it.

It might even be brand new because theres fresh plastic covering the back logo and certain parts, but its more likely that they just restick all the stickers and plastic back on after testing and repairing them.

Linus is my fetish.

  • 1 month later...

I just threw in one for HP.  They were good.  Even gave me double the stock capacity cartridge they were replacing.

ASRock has some of the worse Customer Service I have ever had to deal with.  Inept at every turn.  Sadly it seems to be quite common from the looks of things
