Most GTX 980 Ti cards are in the $620-$750 range. Today this MSI unit at NewEgg instantly falls to $600 and after a $30 mail in rebate is only $570. Historic low price.

If you do not believe in the rebate (why wouldn't you, it's MSI), you can get the Gigabyte Windforce GTX 980 Ti for the same $600 up front.

Get the Gigabyte Windforce one for $9 more?

The Gigabyte one is now also $599.99, but no rebate.

I recently purchased a 1080p 144Hz monitor and my GTX 970 won't be able to keep 144 FPS in AAA titles, so I just purchased the Gigabyte GTX 980 TI as soon as I saw it drop to $600.

Yep same. Sold my 970 for the $600 windforce 980 Ti and got a PERFECT Acer XB270HU! HYPE!
