CPU bus speed 99.98 and not 100Mhz

why is it not 100Mhz??

instead my overclock is 4.398.97 Ghz instead of 4.4Ghz

according to CPUZ

nevermind i installed a newer version and it says its 100Mhz resulting in 4.399.0 Ghz

breh, thats 0.00103Mhz difference, not that much of a difference. Don't worry about it.

Counting to 100 000 000 every second is not as easy as you may think it is. Also it is not critical to be very acurate, so they saved money.

The base clock isn ot 100% constant, nothing in a PC is constant. It will fluctuate around 100, and sometimes never even hit 100 since your particular chip just might not get there. Not a big deal, at all.

Bruh, I don't think you understand how CPUs work. They process information, and they do it at a speed that they can only really approximate by themself. A chip sets itself to a certain speed and you hope that that's what it is. At 4.4GHz, each clock takes a fraction of a nanosecond. Very few measuring tools can measure something that happens that quickly. It's enough that it's timing itself down to the millisecond.

 

It's like a mechanical clock. The individual pieces of the machine don't know what speed it's going at. They just do their thing. Takes an external observer to actually calculate how fast it's going.

just set it to 100.10 instead of auto and that will fix it :)

I know im almost 5 years late to asked but why do my bus speed stay at 99.8mhz. before i was using an intel and it stuck at 99.8mhz because its an old system i thought maybe the crystal degrade already but when i sold it to my friend and it goes back up to 100mhz. even my current ryzen doing the same it stay at 99.8mhz
