goodbye Catalyst Control Center, hello Radeon Sofware

I AM LAUGHING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW! ZMeul reported GOOD AMD news and is STILL trying to make it look bad. Zmeul, stop fanboying pl0x.

This is an improvement compared to this other posts. There might still be hope for him.

I guess that it's good that AMD is working towards something that is as easy on the eyes on Intel's offering:

Now..... if only Nvidia could do the same.

It looks good, even though I'm not that much of a fan of W10's style. It just looks to flat.

As long as it's less complicated than CCC. Seriously, that was a work of a sadist.

I like how this one works, just not sure about "Crimson edition". Are we gonna have different editions through time?

On phone so did not read the article.

According to the source, it would be something like major release names.

Just like Ubuntu's 15.04 Vivid Vervet. But eventually people would learn to use just Ubuntu Vivid or Ubuntu 15.04.

Now what would happen to Raptr? They would probably integrate it into the software since it's the equivalent of GeForce Experience.

maybe CCC needed a complete design .. maybe

but but all of this would be for nothing if AMD's Radeon Division won't publish more WHQL certified drivers instead of half+ year apart

we all sow Windows' 10 behaviour when it comes to updates and how it manages hardware drivers - most of people are not tech savy and others, like enterprise users, won't even install BETA software

back in the day, ATi had a thing going - monthly driver updates .. it's gone

Oh my god that is beautiful! I mean absolutely gorgeous.

Don't have any issues with the catalyst control center. Hope that this is equally smooth...

Also hope that it comes on Linux and windows simultaneously.

And he still makes a fool of himself since WQHL is just a shiny sticker that can be glued in shitty drivers - NVIDIA made sure to make this clear.

Oh wow, this is much bigger than just another Omega driver! I've always thought that Catalyst looked obsolete and ugly, but this looks amazing. I cannot wait for 15.11 to come out.

That being said, what kind of enterprise user would install beta gaming drivers? Enterprise users does not need constant updates on basic cards. Only FirePro cards benefit from updates, and I doubt they get monthly beta drivers, so I really don't see the issue here.

All in all great news, witha much needed GUI overhaul. AMD looking sexy as ever.

The redesign of CCC looks nice. It was already better looking than the Nvidia's control panel and now it's just that much more ahead.

ahead in what!? aestectics!??!?! because the new Radeon Software doesn't do anything more than CCC did

how long have they been working on it? year+?!!?

take a look at this:

and for what exactly?! because it doesn't do anything more that CCC did, oh wait .. it now has social media buttons  <_<

I have a proposal for everyone, whenever Zmuel makes a topic about AMD it should be auto locked, like Cat should write a script which straight up detects all topics by Zmuel with the word 'AMD' in and auto lock them.

Even when they do something which is positive and necessary you still put a negative spin on it.

Answer this question to yourself and answer it truthfully, if it was Nvidia who released a redesigned driver control panel and you reported that would your topic still have negative connotations?

A completely ground up new GUI is nothing to scuff at. It takes a lot of time, but is usually worth it, I think.

As for you table there, you are disregarding all the Beta drivers, which are just as good as NVidia's WHQL drivers (usually better actually). WHQL is just a shiny Microsoft approves badge. Doesn't make any difference to the actual driver itself.

Oh forgot. The source has been pulled. It will be up in 2½ hours. I wonder if the diver launches then? I would love to get my hands on it before Friday!

if it would be done in a similar matter, aesthetics over function and necessity, yes

take GeForce Experience, for example - it's a piece of crap

it's functionality is restricted to people who don't know what they're doing, and sometimes not even since GFE doesn't always work as expected

not including the streaming functionality - that one has some real use

About time. Someone had to do away with the old design of GPU control panels. Did not expect AMD to announce this first.

Great, we'll just conveniently ignore all the other "beta" drivers yea?

Oh what's this? 2 driver updates in a month? What black magic is this? Please ffs, if you want to have your mini "revenge" can you do it somewhere else? What's the point if everyone thinks you're full of bullshit in the end? :/

what the hell are you talking about!? did you even looked over the pictures I posted? did you noticed anything that CCC wasn't capable of doing before?

even comparing to the original ATi Control Panel, CCC bought very little in terms of new functions - assuming you actually owned a ATi powered graphics card to know what I'm talking about

the main difference ATi Control Panel had over CCC was the use of .Net Framework
