Avermedia Live Gamer HD camera help

So i have an Avermedia Live Gamer HD and i want a pretty cheap camera that can record atleast 720p video with hdmi, also it needs to be able to charge while recording or have a good battery. The reason i don't want a webcam is because i also need a camera when i'm not with my computer. Thanks alot for the help!

I have a Canon PowerShot ELPH 300HS ( http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSho...hot+ELPH+300HS) and like it for general use (though i'd be willing to sell it as I've got absolutely no use for it atm); records a nice picture at 1080p with HDMI out. But why not use a smartphone or tablet cam? Most seem to work plenty well..

I may be wrong because I use an iPhone and don't have a need for this, but i thought some android phones, such as the Galaxy S3, have MHL adapters to convert the MHL on the phone to HDMI...like this: http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-HDMI-3FHU-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B0080CXSOU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. Though I guess I can't assume it will record video-taking off that connection.

I've actually been looking at that camera for vlogging and general stuff of that nature cause I'm in the market for a point and shoot. How does that model perform?
