konami claims Kojima just-on-vacation

October 20th, 2015 at 12:59 pm - AuthorMatthew Wilson

We’ve been receiving some conflicting reports this morning regarding Konami and Hideo Kojima’s employment at the company. While it has been largely assumed that the Metal Gear creator hasn’t worked there for months, this morning a report claimed that Kojima officially parted ways with Konami earlier this month on the 9th of October. Konami on the other hand, is claiming that Kojima is merely taking ‘a long time off’.

According to a report from the New Yorker, Kojima had an emotional farewell party earlier this month. However, a spokesperson for Konami’s HQ issued a statement to Tokyo Sports, saying: “Currently, Kojima is a listed as a company employee at Konami. Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.”

Konami is insisting that it is common for its developers to take a long break after a big project has finished development. Kojima Productions has spent the last few years working on Metal Gear Solid V, which launched back in September. However, this does contradict with previous reports surrounding the closing down of Kojima productions and the fallout between the man himself and Konami.

Speaking with Kotaku, one source claims that Kojima’s contract is actually due to run out in December, so who knows what’s really going on, it still seems to be a bit of a mystery.

My Thoughts : So the plot thickness I guess not sure why they cant just say he really left its not like its a secret anyway and i doubt it will affect them in any way I would think

Or just ask Kojima himself?

He is an actual person after all.

Awareness is key. Never enough, even in the face of futility. Speak the truth as if you may never get to say it again. This world is full of ugly. Change it they say. The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

I just "finished" MGS V TPP and I didn't even realize it was over.

I was literally looking in the main mission tab and wondered why there weren't any new ones after completing the "final' mission.

God damn it Konami.

I wonder if "The Phantom Pain" title was on purpose , like it represents the "phantom pain" of the player who finishes the game , because it sure felt that way.

How long did the company take to finally decide to say this statement especially with all the problems that was happening with the team surrounding the game. They even did quite a bit to remove his name too... At this point, I'd much rather see Kojima "come back from a long break" to another company.

Tell that to the 4790K.

Local dickhead and VHS collector who also has an unhealthy obsession with the 6th generation of consoles.
