How On Earth Does The Linus Keep Up With Forum Notifications?

iamdarkyoshi

I have been wondering something. How on earth does Linus keep up with his notifications? I go to bed and I have 100+ notifications waiting for me in the morning. I imagine Linus gets significantly more replies, PMs, and other notifications than me, so how on earth does he (and other popular members) keep up with them?

They don't. Most are probably spam or something silly so I'm sure they get ignored.

I dunno. I dont think he actually gets that much. Especially if he disables status updates.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

I've had over 300 in the same time frame...so its quite possible. (Following Apple and AMD topics really doesn't help)

I honestly haven't the slightest idea.

I took a month or so of a break and I came back to like half that, and they were all status updates.

Ì'm pretty sure he has only tags, quotes and PMs enabled. Then he checks tech news and ramblings sections daily to get topics for WAN show. But in all, he doesn't keep up with them.

Linus has loaded the notification drop down 1 time and that's because I wanted to show him the new one on the Beta website of the forum upgrade

I have mine heavily customized and it's still kinda insane

lol ^^

I lurk the site often enough that I don't really need them.

I know this is a SUPER old thread, (sorry) but I came across it now, and was wondering how yours was customized, and if I can do it the same way. it'd be nice to be able to customize mine to sort mentions, quotes, and status updates. right now, I can't really follow people ATM, since their posts clog up my drop down, but I would love to be able to sort between these two.

You could have just asked this in new thread. Things have changed since this thread was made. Main settings for notifications https://linustechtips.com/main/notifications/options/

Settings per user notifs and like that, https://linustechtips.com/main/followed/

For us normal users there aren't any extended settings.
