Pc will start but not boot into windows.

So I'm about to buy a pc from a guy, he said it's starts but will not boot into windows, what could be the possible problems ?

And btw I don't need advice on whether I should buy it or not I just need some possible problems to see if it would be an easy fix

Low level format the hard drive then install whatever OS you want

I have a problem like that atm. 1 of my CPU fans isn't working which causes an error. (You can override it in the bios no problem)

 

Another option might be that there is no OS installed on it?

ok, to just reinstall windows since if I bought a 100$ windows copy I'd be losing money since it's a cheaper system

well... i'm guessing worst case scenario the on-board sata controller is broken.

he's selling it because it won't boot, illlok at it for physical damage, it's not an expensive rig if anything I'll just chuck Linux on it

if that's the case I can get a mobo for 5$
