Can't boot in Windows

Go to solution Solved by ProKoN,

double check sata modes

should be set for AHCI

also try one stick of memory with all other disk drives unplugged except for OS drive. also unplug any usb storage devices if you got any plugged in

Just built a new x99 system and everything went fine and then I tried a small over clock and it bad. When it tries to boot into Windows it shows the Windows logo and black screen. I don't know what to do now.

revert to stock settings and learn to overclock by following good overclocking tutorials.

Good luck!

you can also try to set it to IDE if by chance your OS was installed in IDE mode

if that doesnt work I would boot into safe mode and un install any mainboard utilities if you installed one. ai suite, easytune etc

Do I press f8 to get into bios I a asus motherboard

how did you do your first overclock if you havnt booted into your bios yet? softwares?

usualy you have to hit the delete key to get in bios.

EDIT: once there, first load optimised bios settings, then set multiplier to 40 and 1.25v manual and see what it does.

I ment f8 to get into save mode

safe mode yes.

but hit del and enter your settings in your bios...and as i said, first load optimised default settings and then try 40 multiplier and 1.25V and see what it does, run some stability testing using anything but prime95 and report.
