They're probably gonna be M.2 only

Nah, they gotta be PCI-E too. Otherwise they would limit the target market.

I'm pretty sure they are strictly going to be M.2 or PCI-E. SATA needs to get a grip or they are going to die out eventually.

And CPUs will need more PCI lanes.

But also that SATA thing. SATA Express is retarded, sorry if that offends anyone

SATA is not a company... It's an i/o type.

It's a PATA variant... Meaning it was made by WD. But they don't actually get money for it. No one loses out if SATA goes the way of the dodo. Luckily, alternative storage solutions are getting cheaper and cheaper. We probably won't see the death of SATA for a long time.

Of course not, but I think PCI-E and more specifically, M.2 have tons of potential as being the next standard. Just like SATA outdated IDE.

If people still use XP, they'll use SATA until 2050.  :P

the cyber monday deals have been pretty poor recently. I would check the prices for the next 14 days or so because if the price drops on some of your parts then you can start a chat with Newegg and they will generally give you the difference back via credit that goes on your account.

i5-4670k, Asus VI Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro Series Red 8GB (2x4GB) @1866 MHZ, EVGA GEFORCE 780 FTW w/ACX Cooler, Fractal Define R4 Windowed (Black-Pearl), Samsung Evo 250GB, WD 1tb Blue, EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650, Acer H236HL 23" x2, Corsair H100i, 2x Noctua NF-S12A, 2x Noctua NF-A14, Steelseries Apex, Logitech G602

We may not see much of discount for individual parts, but we may see some price drops on expensive parts like GPU and maybe high capacity SSD. I'm betting more on combo deals like mobo+ram, mobo+cpu, etc.

I think the norm is that prices start to drop 10 days before and after a major US holiday.
