Asus Bios - Difference between Normal, Asus optimal and power saving?

AstroBenny

What does changing between those modes actually do?

(what settings does it change?)

The three modes are normal, Asus optimal and power saving.

It's all performance, noise, and power consumption related. Power Saver will probably cause the CPU to run at a low frequency and low voltage.

Normal is stock settings, ASUS optimal is a boost in preformance at the cost of possible noise and power consumption and Power saving is self explanatory

Exactly as the bars next to the gauge tell you.

Power Saving mode will keep your CPU at lower clock speeds when not needed, fans won't always spin so fast, and so on.

Asus Optimal puts an overclock (if able) on the CPU, fans speed up when needed, and so on.

Normal is whatever the stock settings the components come set as from the factory.
