Nvme support and speed on z97

Go to solution Solved by Tagiau,

you should have enough lanes, just do not plan on running sli in the future with that setup.

Hello,

I got an ASUS z97 PRO GAMER board with m.2 slot and nvme support, will my z97 chipset have the full speed support for the nvme drive or do i need to upgrade to z170 ?

I am really bad in understanding these pci and pci-e lines, i am using too an GTX 970 ASUS Strix OC and the asus usb 3.1 pci card

Thank you  :D
