$400-$500 help (switching from consoles to pc)

Im looking to build a Canadian Build for $400-$500

I am going to do some video editing but mostly gaming

I need a Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor and OS

Mouse and keyboard dont have to be mechanical.

Only going to be using 1 monitor and would want Windows 8

I really prefer performance over graphics but if you could get something tht could do equally as good with performance and graphics then that would be good

Looking for Micro ATX Form Factor and

Im looking to get a computer because i game on a laptop and Xbox 360 as well as video edit

I need something more powerful than a xbox 360 for gaming and i need something more powerful to video edit

It's tuff to get a monitor os and parts at that build. I was able to fit the parts and os at around 550. You might wanna spend a little more

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

Easily done, and much better without a monitor. Just use a TV, and get like a $5 combo of mice and keyboard, if u arent looking for mechanical.

A build I made just a few days ago.

$440 with no monitor. I can make it better if u want.

The APU is GREAT for most games on the market for medium settings (some high), and the super fast 2400mhz memory really helps, since the graphics relies on system memory and doesnt have its own dedicated fast GDDR5 memory. The decent motherboard supports even up to 2600mhz memory if u want.

Use a Linux os or get Windows 8 or 7 the..."other" way

You guys are awesome! I thought no way you can build a decent system for that money and you set up several affordable builds that fit the bill perfectly.  To much brain power going on around here! I'm going to hide in the closet now.

IF the programs your using take advantage of CUDA, go Nvidia for your GPU. other than that mouse/keyboard are up to you. You can go something well priced and ment for gaming, or a 10$ ebay mouse with cool LEDs but not high grade meant for gaming. same with keyboard. membrane or mechanical.

Get some better peripherals like the Logitech MK120 Mouse + KB combo.

Performance for faster ram really falls off after 1866.

I recommend just to save up a bit more or to get the monitor later if you can use a temporarily use a TV. I use a TV myself since I use my system for media consumption very often anyway. A big display also means I don't have to face battle my screen.

As cheap as you'll find while still being well performing, quality, and upgradable. Just cash in all them rebates ;)

Faster RAM makes a HUGE difference in APU performance. Source:

well if the pc can be $400 and the monitor, keyboard and mouse and OS can be a separate price

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1wjy2 Is what I made and you can get some cheap keyboard mouse combo if you want. You could also take off the CPU cooler but it's a good idea to have one.  But, if you factor in the yearly subscription of Xbox and PS4 around like 70$ you could spend more on the computer

I have a question whats the difference between using an apu instead of a cpu and a gpu

any disadvantages? any pros?

and if you use an apu do u recommend getting a separate graphics card

An APU is a cpu with integrated graphics.

Advantage: Takes up less space, costs less.

Disadvantage: Generally weaker than something like a 7770.

The point of an APU is that you don't need a dedicated gpu.

An APU is a CPU with a GPU on the chip itself. Super awesome idea by amd.

You can use a graphics card with an apu but usually you'll have to disable the on chip graphics unless its a supported amd card for crossfire x.

Use woodenly build but I would change the case to one of the Xion cases that can be found with a psu for about the same price just becaus it looks cleaner.

This is of course unless its a mITX case... In that case haha get it just stick with this build.
