Is it safe to touch the contacts on an Intel processor?

I have seen videos of people removing the IHS on an Intel processor and they have touched the contacts. Is it dangerous to touch them? I heard it may damage the processor.

It won't damage the processor, but it may cause some issues because of the oils from your skin.

Intel doesn't use pins anymore like AMD does, so my guess is that it would be perfectly safe except maybe the oils from your skin might ruin the contact between the cpu and the mobo.

I licked the contacts of my CPU before I drilled a hole through it. it makes a great keychain now :D

Static electricity would kill your CPU, the same way it will kill your GPU and RAM.

Computer chips are extremely sensitive to static electricity. One zap and whatever component that got zapped is now dead.

I'd use one-way glove to avoid getting it into contact with your hads oils directly.
