Hi guys, I am currently pricing up a new system and am unsure whether to get a A10-6800k or to buy a 4670k with the possibility of expanding in future. I will be using Integrated graphics for a few weeks until I can afford a gtx 760. I already have some cases, PSU and HDD lying around but am unsure of what to purchase. Here are the builds:

Haswell:

CPU: 4670k

Mobo: MSI z87-g45 Gaming

RAM: 1600MHz

Richland:

CPU: A10-6800k

Mobo: Asrock FM2A85X Extreme6

RAM:  1600MHz

I will be adding to them as and when I receive money but would appreciate any recommendations you may have. Thank you for reading.

If it's only a few weeks, go with the 4670K, if not, go with the 6800K.

its useless basing your system off of intergrated if your getting a 760...the haswell has more than enough intergrated gpu power to play far cry 3 blood dragon at 720....youll be bale to play basically any game at 720 low medium.....some at high with the 4670k....

go for a 4770k only if you are doing video rendering stuff. or else an i5 4670k is enough!

TBH, Haswell is kind of overpriced. Plus, it's like comparing apples to oranges in this comparison. Either compare the 8350 vs a non K 4th gen Intel or compare something intel to intel. But to answer your question, I would go with the A10 if you're on a budget, 4670K if you're wanting performance.

To correct you, it's 4670K, not 4650K

wow those cpu`s are miles apart. possibility of expanding in future ? FM2 platform is dead.and if you won`t oc,you don`t have to buy a K cpu.wow on haswell gpu is flawless  http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-performance,3461-7.html

BTW, how is FM2 dead? The FX line may be dead soon, and will be replaced by APUs, so maybe it isn't a bad idea.

Just gaming and general usage.

I know they are miles apart but as the FX series don't have an iGPU and I'm going to be without a graphics card for a few weeks it's the only option I have.

FM2 is dead. if you want a better performing cpu than that low end athlon x4 what will you do ? nothing. from 5800K to 6800K the performance gain was like what ? 5% on cpu and 10% on gpu ?

also do not buy an apu if you know you will add a gpu later. even if its like 2-3 months

Yeah, but the APU will be fine if he decides he may not have a GPU for a few months, but it's up to the OP.
