Wait for Pascal?

Should I go with a 950 for my first build, or should I get a 750 Ti, and then wait for Pascal?

 

Keep in mind that the only reason I will wait for Pascal is if it launches a more budget card at around $150-$200.

 

And please do not say "Neither, and get this AMD card" because I really don't care...

Get a 950 in the meantime, Pascal got pushed back to late 2016.

Get the 950.

Guarantee when Pascal hits, and if you waited, you'll want to wait for the next gen.

You will always be waiting if you do.

But Pascal is a little different because of HBM memory. It's been a while since the next gen has been really upgraded

Personally I'd get the 750ti, start saving, and wait a year for Pascal. Then you can sell/give the 750 to a friend that wants to ascend or something and you'll see a considerable boost in performance if we go by Nvidia's chart.

Pascal will most likely launch with the higher end cards anyway, so even if you did wait you would likely be waiting a fair deal longer for the budget cards to show up.

Why no amd card?

CPU: some amd thing Motherboard: its black RAM: its memory thats for sure GPU: r7 260x Case: corsair spec 01 Storage: 1tb of it PSU: 430w, so many watts

Display: its asus Cooling: fans Keyboard: logitech g710+ #browns4lyfe Mouse: its a logitech Sound: its what you hear Operating System: winders

Imo get a 950 for now, or maybe a used 750ti to go really low cost, then upgrade once pascal is released.

Because I didn't ask about AMD cards. I was just sick of asking about Nvidia cards and then getting AMD suggestions. If I wanted to know about AMD cards I would post another thread on it. Just trying to streamline my research.
