Graphics Card overheating ?

Go to solution Solved by mgsstar,

The thermal paste might have dried up. I would get either get a laptop cooler like a CM NotePal X3 to cool it down or get compressed air to clean out the dust in the fans and heatsink in order to get better airflow. A last thing that I would try is to void your warranty and replacing the thermal compound if the suggested stuff does not work and the fan curve doesn't work. I would do this as the last step because doing this could mess up your computer if you don't know how to do it properly. So don't do it if you don't know how to. I don't think you can replace gpus in laptops because they are soldered onto the board.

Msi afterburner. Change your fan curve, underclock it (maybe).

Thanks i just got my pc working stable after moving stuff around but I dont think I fixed it for good. Im gonna try to get to get msi afterburner to try to under-clock it and get a new cooler. and the thermal pads on the gpu arnt dry but ive had to put them back on my self and if under-clocking it and a new cooler dosent work i might try new pads/thermal compound after that if it still dosent work its a 4+ year old pc i might just get rid of it Thanks 4 Feedback :3
