After 12 years, Age of Mythology is getting a new expansion pack

So, after a succesful steam reboot of the franchise, it is getting a new expansion pack called Tale of the Dragon that adds Chinese mythology to the game.

I think this is AWESOME, I to this day still play this game, and to see it (still) getting the support it deserves is a great thing in my opinion.

 

Samuel Roberts reckoned that Age of Mythology's Extended Edition was a "worthy update", and now that update is set to receive a new expansion pack, only 12 years after the last one appeared for the original game.

Tale of the Dragon, as you may have guessed, does Chinese mythology, but we know nothing about it beyond that yet.

On a separate note, they're also working on an expansion for Age of Empires that will be set in Africa, but as far as I know that's been known since E3.

 

We'll have to wait until October 2 to learn more, as that's when developers Forgotten Empires and Skybox will be holding a livestream over yonder.

They're a busy bunch—they're also making a new expansion for Age of Empires 2 HD, entitled The African Kingdoms. You'll never guess where it's set.

Played the shit out of this game. This is amazing news :D

It is said, that civilised man seeks out good and intelligent company, so that through learned discourse he may rise above the savage and closer to God. Personally, however, I like to start the day with a total dickhead to remind me I'm best!

Woah didn't know about the new Age of Empires II expansion! I'll definitely be getting that. I haven't played Age of Mythology. But I'll definitely take a look at it.

Keen as hell for the age of empires expansion.

Been playing AoE3 with my sister heaps lately.

 

I might get stuck in to the age of mythology as well.

This is pretty cool. I've been going all nostalgic and playing AoM EE for the past few weeks. Great game. Took me ~25 hours just to beat the first of three campaigns. Old games had good value!

AOM was never as good as AOE2 but releasing these now is weird because I forget everything about the game and how to play and I played for 2 years straight every day. I tried AOE2 again.... just no hope for all that micro.....

AOM is way better than aoe2. the only really good aoe was the first.

Can't wait, this is one of my all time favorites. I don't care if it'll look so bad that my eyes will hurt. And here I was thinking how awesome it would be to get Age of Mythology 2. Please.

 

Samuel Roberts reckoned that Age of Mythology's Extended Edition was a "worthy update", and now that update is set to receive a new expansion pack, only 12 years after the last one appeared for the original game.

Really? I think the writer of the article doesn't quite understand the concept of time.

awesome! wish aoe3 received the same kind of attention cause that's the game that got me hooked to the series, aoe2 was the one i carried on a usb to play it anywhere.

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!
