I'd recommend Argo. It kept me off my seat for the whole movie.  Whoops..not an action movie. Then yeah I second Back to the Future.

Full Metal Jacket ;D

"And yet my mind is screaming, provoked in an icy sweat. It’s pleading and begging for a release, scraping the walls of a padded cell, pounding hopelessly at the floors that won’t even deliver the gift of pain."  - Why I Don't Dream Anymore

DogHouse if you are into strange British humor. Well action aint that much and Sci-fi are the killer women-zombies but its messed up comedy like uglier brother of Shaun of the Dead.

Depending on your age, these may not be appropriate, but i watched "The Colony" and "Jobs" over the weekend, they were both quite good IMO. Others i have seen in the last few weeks which were also decent:

Pacific Rim, 2 Guns, Elysium, and We're the Millers

Current Rig as of 7/30/13

A10-6800k, Asrock Extreme 6, 16GB Kingston Hyper X 2133Mhz RAM, Asus 2GB 7770, OCZ vertex 4 128GB SSD, 2TB Barracuda HDD, Rosewill Hive 750 watt supply, and CM Storm Trooper case.
