You know, I love 1911's, but idk why people buy them for carry guns.  They're big, heavy, and sure it's 7 to 8 rounds of .45 on tap, but my M&P Shield 2.0 is way smaller, lighter, and holds the same amount of 9mm, and with modern loads, it's more than good enough to take someone down if I need to draw it.

He has the mindset of "my bullet is bigger so it's better", which also explains why he got a .40 S&W as his backup...

Yeah, I have a buddy like that.  He bought a full sized 1911 cause he likes a 4 in the front for his bullet size.  But even then I still don't get it, main reason is cause most people who, "carry a .45 cause they don't make a .46" types, then complain of the weight.

 

Like my friend.

I've at least been trying to talk him into a Shield 2.0 in .40.  Weight at least wouldn't be an issue then.

He's a large enough guy that he doesn't complain about the weight of .45. Still, he doesn't like that people will pick 9mm.

Can't blame him for hating his girlfriend's carry pistol though, it's a 9mm Sccy.

I have a 9mm SCCY.  It's not great, but it goes bang.  I threw it in the center console of my Jeep, use it as a truck gun.

Was it brand new when you bought it? This one was bought used and you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. Not sure about the history with it, but the poor thing doesn't seem like it ever got decent treatment.

Nah, my uncle gave it to me along with a Ruger LCP.  Well we traded for it.  I had one of them compact 1911s, a Colt one.  I got a really decent deal on it.  Didn't care for .45 in a compact sized gun.

Finally got me a stripped lower so I can do an AR pistol build.

 

Anderson Lower, $50.00 at the gun show.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

It'll probably be a month or so (maybe two months), but I'm looking at an air rifle for my next purchase.  I'd like to get a pump action one (as they're more handy to reuse without access to refills), but those either only take BB's or they're single shot loaders.  And all the air ones that require refilling seemingly only take BB's.  I finally decided on a bolt action CO2 model that allows for multiple .22 pellets to be loaded.  I might change my mind as the time to order it draws near, but this is what I'm looking at currently.
