This is a special recap week that is to encourage people to watch the anime if they have not but to also take a look at the manga
Sadly I do not know of a place that I can link to for the manga since that tends to fall into a gray legal area

Synopsis

Yukihira Souma's dream is to become a full-time chef in his father's restaurant and surpass his father's culinary skill. But just as Yukihira graduates from middle school, his father, Yukihira Jouichirou, closes down the restaurant to cook in Europe. Although downtrodden, Souma's fighting spirit is rekindled by a challenge from Jouichirou which is to survive in an elite culinary school where only 10% of the students graduate. Can Souma survive?

Synopsis

Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game which the winner will become Deus' successor.

Loving food wars. I find it interesting how accurately the dishes are presented, the recipes are spot on  :D

ya my understanding of the manga is it actually has recipes although I have not read it yet I will have to start reading it soon.

If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

How many times has Mirai Nikki won now? I mean, I like it and all but...

as I have stated a few times now... Every thing that was in the poll has already won, everything in this thread has already won, this is more about getting people to try reading the manga then to get people to watch the anime which is the reason that I chose to do a recap week of anime that has already won.

ya my understanding of the manga is it actually has recipes although I have not read it yet I will have to start reading it soon.

I don't recall any actual "recipes" while reading the manga, but they do somewhat go "in-depth" with the ingredients used, just not all of them.

your translation may have cut them but I have seen some of the images that were being attributed to the manga that were recipes. Like I said I have not read it so not really sure.

No they have actual recipes with the specific ingredients and instructions to make them, just like a cookbook. Like Charger said, your version was probably cut short.

i need to catch up in Shokugeki no Souma manga, i'm like 4 chapters behind!

 

i've already read Mirai Nikki, a little short but a perfect fit for the story.

Dropped Food Wars 3 episodes in, as expected. This overbearing / -exageration worked just once for me in Ben-To. Also the Shounen is too present in Food Wars.
