asus motherboard cant connect to tv

my maximus vi hero cannot connect via hdmi to a tv that i am using due to the fact that my monitor died. i also cant use the hdmi out from my 770 which i assume is a driver issue, i have also yet to install any os on the drive because i cant see anything. I just want to get to the BIOS and see if all my new hardware is working properly

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

I had two HDMI cables, one for my PS3 and one for my Xbox 360. Oddly, one works in the computer and one didn't. I had to do this for setting up my computer because my monitor was also dead.

 

I don't know why it wouldn't work, an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, but if you have a spare or  something, you should try it.

i have loads of hdmi cables that i know work because i have tried them with my laptop and my xbox and they are both fine, the cables are not a issue

neither hdmi ports work, there is one on the MOBO and one on the 770
