Are ducky keyboards worth the price in the UK?

Hi all,

I would like to know what you guys think about the price of Ducky keyboards in the UK. They look really cool and have great build quality, but for a shine 3, you're looking at about £140 in the UK. That is absurd in my opinion.

Unfortunately, there aren't that many keyboard options for me and the shine 3 looks like a great choice. I want cherry reds with a red backlight and a simplistic design, something Ducky does very well. The corsair K70 is another option (although not as simplistic), but that is also quite expensive.

Anyway, back to the point, if any of you live in the UK and have a ducky shine 2 (or if anyone happens to have a shine 3 already somehow...)please could you say what you think about the price and quality/performance of the keyboard. Also, what do you guys think of the stabilisers on Ducky boards? I heard they use an 'improved' cherry stabiliser and that they don't feel as mushy.

Thanks

Costar stabs are the best if you want a more even feel, the reason why Cherry stabs are better in backlit keyboard is because the LED wire doesn't wrap around the stabs. Since you are in the UK look at the keyboardco and maybe you'd like getting a Filco and then later replacing the keycaps! Blank keycaps look quite nice (assuming you can touchtype) and has a minimalist look if you're into that. I own a DS2 the build quality is great but honestly I prefer the more even feel of Costar Stabs so I would end up getting a Filco in your situation.

Personally, I prefer the feel of Cherry stabilizers over Costar, but that's just me so I would vote yes.  Shine 3, here I come.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I really want a backlight just for the looks. I wish costar would make more boards with LEDs. I think there stabilisers can work with LEDs now.

Well, I'm not 100% sure, but Mstone FR4 LED TKL is supposed to be made by Costar...

wth...what boards are you looking at with LED wires above the plate?

I'm not sure where you read that...

It really depends on yourself tbh, i got my Shine 2 MX Red, Blue LED @ 150sgd (£77) @ a warehouse sale so this was a great deal for me :P

But personally i wouldn't pay >$200USD for a keyboard, it's too excessive imo :/ Grab the K70/K95 if the price is more reasonable, they're great alternatives as well. The Quickfire TK from Coolermaster is also a viable option if you don't mind the TKL form factor.

Yeah. I think the K70 is my best bet. It's a shame that CM storm choose to use iOne instead of costar for their full size backlit boards. I am really put off the quickfire ultimate because of that.
