[Project Log] Baby Blue - Breaking Bad themed Z170 ITX build

50mm

Hello again!

After my first project [white99] was such a great experience i decided to start another one.

I planned to make a little ITX build which i can take to friends, LANs etc for a long time. But i was searching for a theme for this build.

So when i recently watched Breaking Bad again (and i have to say it's still an amazing show even after watching it two times)

i had the idea to build a superlab inside of the case. I named it after the song played over the last scene of the show.

Badfinger - Baby Blue

So with the idea born i looked for some components and found a great

deal for an used ITX build inside a Cooltek / Jonsbo U2 Case in black.

I only needed a new PSU and an SSD which i bought right after i received the system.

Update:

I sold most of the things i wanted to use in this build and received some new in the meantime.

The list isn't complete yet but will be soon.

Hardware:

Intel i5 6600k

ASUS Z170i Pro Gaming

[RAM]

[GPU]

Silverstone Strider Gold 550w

[SSD]

Intel i5 3570k

EVGA Z77 Stinger

Samsung Green 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU Mini

Crucial BX100 250GB

CPU and GPU are going to be watercooled.

I'm going to post updates every now and then but for the beginning i got some pictures for you.

As you can see it's a very nice case and i already got some ideas to change it.

And i'm in love with this Motherboard!

Of course i'm going to sleeve all the cables by myself again, i chose grey and yellow for this build and again no cablecombs ;)

Like in the last project i got all the stuff from Gosumodz.

Why no cable combs? Because i see cablecombs in nearly every casemod and wanted

to do something else but still hold all the cables together, so i came up with this:

I know not everyone likes this idea but i never saw it before and i'm happy with the result.

But what is a superlab without a reactor tank? Thanks to John from Gosumodz who turned

my sketches into a 3D rendering you can get a great idea of how the reservoir will look like.

This will be the most special part of the build and it still needs some improvements but

for now i thinks it's more than enough.

That's it for the moment

So guys, tell me what you think!

Cheers!

I personally think that case would look 10X better with a bottom mounted power supply.

too :D i can get every sticker i want, we'll see :P

Looks great - but why z77 and a 670?

keeps it cheap and it's still enough for the games i play with friends and on LANs. If everything goes well i might start another project soon ;)

Update_2

Just a little update on this build.

I took off the cooler of the graphics card to take a look underneath.
Yesterday i ordered the watercooling parts and talked to

the machinist who will build the custom reservoir for this project.
