I've marked this unsolved, since I have more trouble. If I shut down the computer for a longer period of time (like when I go to sleep), I can't boot to Windows in the morning. The computer starts up normally, but monitor doesn't turn on. So I have to forcibly shut it down. When I start it again, the monitor magically turns on and says that windows couldn't boot. He offers me startup repair or normal start. When I hit normal start, it's pretty much random in my opinion, since the monitor loses signal between the windows logo and welcome screen, and not always gets it back. I tried the startup repair today and it was successful, windows booted normally then. I am not sure about tomorrow tough. What I need to know is what is causing the issue, if it is faulty HW then how to prove it, if it is SW how to fix it. I already deleted display drivers from the list, since I had this problem first with 326.41, I deleted them completely via driver sweeper and installed "safe" 314.22 and I have the same problem.

It's possible that you're getting a similar error to one I had, does you computer go into hibernation? I recently reformatted and hadn't changed the power settings. If I let it hibernate, my computer did exactly what yours appears to be doing.

No, I shut it down completely.

This happens to me as well, I just plugged my GPU into the x4 slot instead of the x16 slot, and now the problem has gone. Don't know if it effects performance though?

if this fixed your problems then return your board and get a new piece if it is still in warranty, i am pretty much sure that you have a faulty PCI-e slot.

As far as I know they have something to do with memory bandwith (not sure). If you switch between x16 and x8 there is almost no diffirence in performance in games, altough x4 should have a bigger impact and limit your GPU performance. PCI-e 3.0 x8 = PCI-e 2.0 x16, so PCI-e x4 should be equal to PCI-e 1.0 x16, which is pretty old.

A little update to my problem: The startup repair didn't fix anything. Interesting is, that windows actually booted up (I heard the login sound in my headphones), but the monitor didn't notice any signal. I'll try using Intel HD4600 instead of my GTX660 to see if the problems disappear, which would mean I have a faulty card, otherwise it is a monitor or even the cable problem, maybe a motherboard problem.

OK, so today I reseated my GTX660 to the lower PCI-e slot. The computer started completely normal way and even after installing drivers and giving it some time, there was no problem with starting. So is there a faulty PCI-e x16 slot or it might be something else? I will reseat the card once again to be 100% sure the problems continue. If they do should I refer to the warranty policy? I really hate tangling with those moneywhores who have problem with returning a faulty product. So if there might be something else causing the issue, please write, I'll investigate.

EDIT: A little update: I plugged the card back to the x16 slot from the x8 and went out cycling for almost 3 hours. When I came back and started the computer, I encountered the issue again. So I put it back to the x8 slot and will see how will the computer start in the morning. If it boots normally, i will probably contact the tech support, if not then it might be a GPU problem, monitor problem or cable problem. A little question tough- could this be a PSU problem?

No the PSU shouldn't be the problem. the PSu is only a promlem if your PC shuts down while under heavy load or if the PC doesn't post at all ;)

I did another test and now I am sure there is something with the PCI-e x16 slot. I put the card into the x8 slot yesterday, shut it down around 9PM and started at 8PM with no problem.
