Is there a way to run a GPU at 100% in the background?

So I live Ireland and my room gets quite chilly during the evening. I noticed when I play a game my room gets really warm and it's really nice.

so my question is, Is there a way I can run my Graphics card (GTX 580) at 100% in the background while I do other things? kinda like Prime95.

I tried FurMark but when I minimize it it just stops running the GPU at 100%.

Furmark, but buy a heater, it is not good for your GPU/CPU to run them 24/7.

Instead of Furmark download F@H and fold for a good cause to heat up your room.

Run 3DMark in loop mode. Acts like a screensaver too :P

If you do run the card 24/7 for the next couple of months I'm pretty sure that your will last as long as you keep the temperature at a reasonable level.
