Do I need to download drivers for wired 360 controller?

it does need driver

I've use it since 2010, and I have to install driver everytime I plug it to new machine (either windows xp or 7)

 

but as for now, MS already have that driver on Windows 8 by default.

however for wireless you might still need driver if you bought 3rd party receiver (mainly only for that specific receiver)

I am on Windows 8.1 and I am wondering if I need to download drivers for this.

I read somewhere that I only need to download drivers on Windows 7 and older.

 

Bonus question:

Do I need to download drivers for Windows 10?

Nope.

 

Windows 10 will automatically install drivers for your controller.
