I just overclocked my 4770k to 4.4ghz, and when I run a test like prime95, the frequency jumps up to 4.4 as the current frequency, but in any other programs my it says my processor is a intel core i7 4770k @ 3.5ghz? Any one know why this is?

Does the CPU clockspeed change when it's being stressed in CPU-Z? What programs are you using?

Here, The core speed changes, but the Specification doesn't show the new overclock.

Some programs always show the stock frequency of the chip. I remember running a game benchmark once on my old OC'd E4500 (2,8GHz at that time) and was very confused when it was showing stock 2,2. But CPU-Z should show the correct frequency if running Prime95 (no power saving or turbo)

It does show the overclock running prime 95, but only in the core speed section...

no, it's perfectly OK. Here's a CPU-Z ss I found on the web just to prove it :Pcpu-z-oc-3752-540x334.jpg?1254505333
