good mobo for gaming with i5-4670k

Go to solution Solved by Raxxdude,

Almost all Z87 motherboards will do at least a decent overclock. Getting the more expensive motherboards is really for tweakers ( people that really want to dig into the settings and fine tune things) . From the way you are asking i would guess something like an MSI g43/ 45 will do you just fine. If you do not like that color scheme you could go with a gigabyte ud3 or the z87-a. Will you gain much from spending more, probably not unless you are a hardcore overclocker, aka liquid nitrogen, or if you are a power user. Hope this helped  :D.

Hi guys , so i was wondering which mobo is good-best for gaming and also a little bit OC for i5-4670k.

I´m not looking for good audio on mobo for example like ASUS ROG mobos , just want good components on it.

My budget is around 180€ (240$) but  i would be glad if there would be a good mobo serving my purposes for less then 150€

sorry for my language and ty for ur answers

Asus Z87 line has good boards for all price ranges. The Z87-A / Pro / and Expert are good entry boards.

The MSI Z87-GD45 and Z87-G43 are also worth a look.

I personally cannot recommend Gigabyte products as I have just had far too many problems with their products in terms of quality, bios, and compatibility.

It all boils down to features. You have to look carefully at the specs of the boards in your price range and decide what you need and what you don't. Always keep expand-ability in mind. I cringe when I see someone skimp on a motherboard...it is (IMO) a very crucial part of your computer.

When it comes down to audio...the bottom line is....the quality of your speakers/headphones will be more important than the quality of the sound card/on-board. This is a very indepth topic. So if this is at all important to you I suggest you read the sticky in the audio forum.

Going back to motherboards....Carefully consider these while picking a board:

- Board layout (Does it have sata plugs or power connectors in stupid spots? Will your case selection contrast well with your motherboard selection? Meaning will it cause cable management issues?)

- BIOS (Are they good? Read some reviews)

- Stability

- Warranty

- Features, features, features. (How many USB 3.0/sata ports do you need? Do you want on board wifi? SLI/Crossfire?)
- Color scheme? (important to some)

Best thing to do is first figure out what you need from the above, go to some e-tailers and browse the products that have what you desire, then start googling each one individually to read reviews or user feedback from problems....or success stories.
