41.50$. Wow Its the same holes just by a 212 evo or something better for 40 USD. It is cool they are selling it though.

THAT THING IS HUGE!! I don't see why anyone would buy that when they can just pick up a Hyper 212 EVO for cheaper (I don't know much about Yen so sorry if I'm wrong)

Thats huge, but I understand why the new skylake cpus have a tdp of 90w, but you're probably gonna get an aftermarket cooler for that price.

I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money on that thing, but a CM cooler or save up for a Noctua.

 

 

Also, that thing is fugly.

I'm assuming this heat-sink is using a copper slug, it might not perform that bad if there were optional fans for it.  

Test ideas by experiment and observation; build on those ideas that pass the test, reject the ones that fail; follow the evidence wherever it leads and question everything.

Intel had better stock heatsinks, that thing must be a joke. And on the box it says "Meets Intel's Stringent shock/drop test". I wonder if that massive heatsink has anything to do with it.

I know how Intel made those heatsinks! They took the left over heatsinks from their Pentium D Netburst cpus and then glued it to the current ones. :P

So they remove the stock heatsinks from K components, jack the prices up by 20-40 bucks because why the hell not, and then charge 40 bucks for the heatsink.

 

Anybody still believe that Intel wouldn't exploit a monopoly?

umm the sole fact skylake is only 30-40% faster clock for clock than sandy bridge (5 years difference) already proves that they are expoiting it. Along with the fact prices are going up while processes are going down also shows it

You can buy a Cooler Master Seinen 120v AIO cooler for $39.99.... Again, this is intel charging a premium for no fucking reason other then intel.

 

I bet the cooling performance of that thing is as good as a brick is for rafting.

That thing looks so much like the stock 1366 cooler sitting on my shelf its not even funny... I wonder if Intel still had a warehouse with them somewhere and just though they would design 1151 with the same mounting spacing to clear out some inventory.
