Need help planning a new build

Ok so my dad is currently using a vista laptop which is poor performance. He is wanting to upgrade but doesn't have much money to do so. All he ever does is social media, watch videos, do emails, and browse the internet. NOTHING intensive. Can you guys help me help him plan a build that can do all that for as cheap a possible? try to also include the os, monitor, and peripherals too IF possible. Thanks guys!!!!

What would be the MAX price or price range?

min is as low as possible. Max is also low as possible. My pref for him is cap at $500, but we still need it to be low.

I would get a

- FX 6300 due to that i am guessing he will have this for years so it doesn't run like shit because programs will one day require more than 4 cores

- 256gb SSD.

- Cheap case w/ USB 3

- Cheap M/B w/ USB 3 headers

- 8GB Ram

- the cheapest, R7 GPU.

- 1tb HDD for photo storage and documents

- EVGA PSU

He doesnt care for speed so the ssd isnt needed. and for the processor and gpu, I was thinking that an apu would be better for him.

A8 is plenty if your dad does only the stuff you say he does, not really for gaming or anything. Same with the RAM, 4GB is enough for Chrome and a few other applications. The SSD is still fast and a must have, although I only put a 64GB SSD since I assume your dad won't really be storing anything on there besides maybe photos or videos. The PSU may looks sketchy but's a high quality Delta unit. You can get the OS on Reddit's /r/microsoftsoftwareswap for like $15. The monitor is IPS, just to look nice and the keyboard combo is pretty good as I've had it before and was impressed considering it's only $30.

Any preferable monitor resolution @OP?

he can do a range from 480p to 1080p. But the resolution doesnt really matter to him.

I just found the cheapest 1080p monitor, and like you said, nothing to fancy on the CPU, A10 isn't really necessary, an A6 will do fine.
