I purchased the EVGA 980ti SC ACX and love it.

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

In this situation definitely go with the EVGA GTX 980Ti Hybrid http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-HYBRID-Graphics-06G-P4-1996-KR/dp/B00Z0UX8TA/ref=sr_1_12?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1438910196&sr=1-12&keywords=980ti. It has far more potential than the Zotac and a much better warranty with customer service. Since it is a water cooled card it will have a lot higher overclocking capability.

980 Ti Hybrid here. Love it, and the temps NEVER get above mid 50 Celsius with ambient temperatures around 80-90 F. Overclocking becomes rough around 1440 and I settled in at 1421 GHz at the moment. Very little noise and looks nice.

Can answer questions if you have some.

Zotac has 5 Years warranty. And EVGA has no higher OC capability. All 980Ti´s can OCed to ~1550Mhz and than its over if you dont go LN2. No matter what Card you own.

First, you should not listen to envy People who dont own a 980Ti themself. Sadly alot of them are lurking through the Forum.

1. They both will perform the same. Zotac is faster out of the Box, if you dont want OC yourself.

2. I dont know how loud the EVGA will be. The Zotac is on Paper ~40db, but i cant hear it over my case Fans.

3. www.alternate.de

4. Zotac Witcher 3 @ 67°

In the End, both Cards are badass.

As previously mentioned, any 980 ti will perform pretty much the same in terms of standard overclocking. The only difference will be if you want to go extreme with a custom bios and a watercooling or liquid nitrogen cooling setup. The Amp Extreme performs great out of the box but you won't find a full cover waterblock if you want to watercool it. That being said, if you game at 1080p or 1440p where you don't need that extra horsepower, would you consider heating  your room  even more with an overclocked card?

Zotac, EVGA are getting to the point of being overrated just because of a warranty even though Zotac do a 5 year warranty which is more than enough but EVGA fanboyisim is stronk on LTT forums. :) Sure both cards delivar a kick arse OC but Zotac are actually under rated.

I have a reference zotac and I've zero complaints other than the heat!

soo I just ordered an evga hybrid cooler lol.. soo I'd vote the evga! based on reviews and temps alone.

the 980ti runs too hot for its own good and the cooler you can get it the better the performance.

also zotac cards do come with a 5 year warranty so I don't think evga has "a better warranty" as some claim.

I can tell you that I will give you a lifetime warranty but that doesn't mean I'm actually going to give you the service to go with it. I've had an experience with Zotac RMA and it's not the smoothest process. EVGA is the best support in the business.
