usually you can find 7950's in that price range.. much better gpu for the price

760 will keep getting better though with driver updates and with physx and cuda and shadow play and the amazing driver support for nvidia card. I think the 760 is far superior.

that it will i usually choose nvidia for those exact reasons but raw price to performance at the moment the 7950 wins it

Ya right now. but again. with driver optimizations the 760 will get better and as i said nvidia drivers are leaps and bounds better than amds/

The 7950 is about 10% faster in gaming, but keep in mind that the 760 has PhysX and CUDA, generally costs about $10 less, runs cooler, runs quieter, sucks less power, and has much fewer dropped frames.

yeah just have to wait and see i suppose, i still favor my 770 lightning :)

AND has time to be better optimized with drivers and what not.

again, i typically buy nvidia because overall they have a much more polished product and driver support however those facts aside the op asked for best card, being a relatively general question i gave the relatively general answer, most people on this forum will recommend the 7950 as being the best bang for your buck card at the moment

I would say the best rounded card would be 760 and shear performance right now would be 7950. In the future im sure that will change too.

yeah i would expect so, though ive never looked at price to performance so much as what do i want to put in my build this time lol

Ya. I always take price to performance into account but features mean stuff too and same with driver support.

yeah thats why i ended up on the 770 lightning, i love to oc i know i can get a waterblock for them once i get my second one it has a sexy looking backplate and it performs really well even on single gpu for those games that have poor sli support

7950 is better ^_^ although I believe there was a 7970 going for $299 if I remember correctly.

You can get 7970 and 680 on sale around $300 nowadays, that is the best GPUs for $300. Not 760 nor 7950. :P

I ordered my Gigabyte GTX760 SOC today and all I know is that it has more power than most of the 7950's.

I've been an Nvidia fan boi for 8 years and that isn't about to change

I'm the one who overclocks.
