and for that logic, why do we still have people using high end cards from 3 years ago like the gtx 295 gtx 470 and gtx 560 etc.

I just bought my 660 yesterday, i'm already ready for the 860 next February. Its weird how us pc gamers are never "really happy" with our setup

because it starts to get boring if your content with your hardware, its manifest destiny and its all a part of the human experience that console gamers just don't get to experience

I think low end PC parts are essential, it is how the industry is able to attract new people and grow. Everyone has to start somewhere. It would behoove you to take those people in and show them that the community is a good one and one they want to stay in and help prosper in the future.

i dont think an a4 is better than a console.

Games arent cpu intensive anymore. its mostly up to the gpu.

well, your right but an a4 onboard gpu doesn't perform better than an xbox 360 but it is "faster"

No, not a a4 by itself. but if it can play the game who cares? thats the good thing about pc, you can add to them.

I'm willing to bet a lot of rigs after 10 years will have had every component changed completely, you start from the bottom (an a4) and eventually as you keep adding things like Lego you can end up with an amazing work of art.

Console optimisations and how they will effect you | The difference between AMD cores and Intel cores | Memory Bus size and how it effects your VRAM usage |
How much vram do you actually need? | APUs and the future of processing | Projects: SO - here

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

I bet you after 5 years most everything other than maybe PSU and hdds will be changed.

Okay.

Look at the recent increase in SSD size (well kinda with the 1TB samsung SSD) and the new 300GB disks? Storage is increasing except for hard drives, I think it's time for traditional mechanical drives to make their move.
