World of Warcraft isn't the first MMO I will grant you that but Blizzard were the first people to do it right or the game just wouldn't be around today.

This statement is just too f00bared for me to even respond.

You're totally not biased either with your WoW toon as your avatar......

Well, Guild Wars 2 was a WoW killer for me at least, just look at WoW, it has lost so many players in a short period of time, that you could say it's dying.

Another cartoony, artistically bankrupt game using a big name but paying it no respect to sell units.

Honestly, it has some solid new ideas, but there are two major dealbreakers for me: no PvP and shit art direction.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

*Sigh* I really wish we could have more games with a secret world/Devil may cry like setting, I'm getting really bored with the stereotypical fantasy settings.

EQ community is too loud to ever let that happen.

I love The Secret World and totally agree, it has nothing in common with Devil May Cry though visually or contextually.

I assume you're referring to more gritty and realistic looks, and yeah, there are far too few of them.

World of Darkness and Star Citizen are the only upcoming MMOs that have more realistic art direction. I'll be playing both of them while flipping the bird at all the cartoon trainwrecks passing by.

I'm going to assume you know what Star Citizen is...

Yeah thats what i was more or less referring to, I was also talking about the the combination of swords, guns and magic in a semi realistic setting as well, dunno why but I love stuff like that.

Also thanks for introducing me to world of darkness somehow this gem managed to slip my net. As for Star citizen its been waay too long since we had a really good space sim, I can already tell that when these release any hope of me going  outside will promptly die :D

It's the first MMORPG to go fully mainstream, leading to it gaining a massive audience. People spent thousands of hours on their characters and now they don't feel like leaving all of that behind and starting fresh with a better game.

That is why WoW is still remotely popular as of today. You are in the same position.
