PC and PS3 Gaming on same monitor

My PC is set up with a dual monitor and only one of the monitors has an audio port to connect to my speakers. If I connect my speakers to one of the monitors and play a video on the other monitor, does the sound come through the speakers? I don't have speakers to test now

 

The reason i want to connect speakers to monitor is because I will be using my PS3 on the same monitor.

It depends on the monitor - some have audio pass through, some have audio input, some have both.
