Cooler For i7 4770 - No overclocking?

Go to solution Solved by Loe,

Alright thanks for all the responses, I feel I have enough information to make a decision now.

I was thinking of getting a Hyper 212 Evo but socket 1150 isn't officially supported.

I have a micro-atx case so can't have a massive cooler, max height is 160mm.

Motherboard: MSI H87M-G43 Case: Fractal Design Define R4

It should support it. The 1150 shares the same as the 1155 to my knowledge.

I was led to believe that 1150 sits slightly lower than 1155.

Strange. Well either way that suggestion @SSOB said is very well done. BeQuiet as he said are dead silent.

Get a bequiet dark rock 2 , it's just so silent you can hear yourself breathing rather than the cooler itself. And it looks nice.

Actually i can safely say ALL the bequiet coolers are Excelent in performance and silence just pick the one you like the most :

Can't find it.

Ivy and Haswell uses the same mounting for heatsinks. All heatsinks that works for LGA 115 also work for 1150.

Also the Hyper 212+ and Hyper 212 Evo are two different coolers.

You don't need an aftermarket cooler if you're not overclocking. You don't need to worry about noise if you have good case airflow.

Some people do care about astheathics you know. I know you are not big into astheatics but that doesn't mean other people aren't.

Yeah I know. It's just that with my bit of information, the OP can go ahead and get whatever looks good and not worry about not having enough cooling.
