I've been looking into these monitors:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009484

Thin bezel, well priced, and a good size for three. I'm also going to buy one of the 144hz asus monitors for gaming on consoles, competitively, in 3D, or if I can't run three monitors with the game. I'm gonna run games at 5760x1080 with dual GTX 780 DCUIIs, so with good setting I don't really expect much more than 60 fps on the monitors. Is 5ms too much response time to fully enjoy having nvidia surround or will it suffice? Also should I just go with the three 144hz asus monitors? I just want a great immerse gaming experience so even 50 frames should be enough but would I ever need it to be faster? IPS should be good for the angles as well, and for content creation I don't know if I need anything past the specs, hell maybe not even 20ms. Any help will be extremely appreciated :D

You will be able to game fine on these. You said yourself that you don't expect more than 60fps, so a 144hz monitor would be overkill & most likely TN so the surround aspect may be harmed a little bit by the viewing angles. You also shouldn't run into any issues with content creation either.

I have 3 way surround with the 23" version of that monitor and I have to say for gaming it's amazing!!

although still not as good as a TN 120hz panel for any fps gaming.. (still will do the job)

Honestly 60hz in surround doesn't feel too nice to me, since you're much more immersed in the game the difference in fluidity between 60fps and 120fps is huge, you're video cards can pretty easily handle the resolution at high-max settings in most games. Did I read correctly that you will be using a 144hz monitor for consoles? WHAT :D ??? You're going to use 60hz for PC and 144hz for console? That just doesn't make sense...

that monitor has a 1ms response time, and I'm going to use the 144hz for competitive gaming, but for immersive "magical" gaming I'm going to be using 60hz 5ms ips monitors to just have a blast

What difference will the 1ms response time make? The consoles already have so many latency limitations (namely: joystick, 30fps, P2P, hardware) that the difference will be negligible. Plus if you want a 1ms response time so badly, it still doesn't explain the 144hz, why not get one with a lower refresh rate and save some money?

Response time is kind of a meaningless spec.  There is no standard way of measuring it, and the gray-to-gray response time that most monitors quote is a measurement of a pixel change that almost never happens in actual video output.  Manufacturers quote it because it is the fastest color transition, even though it's not actually useful.

hmm, ok. So i'm coming from a 60hz 5ms dell tn monitor. If I use three of those monitors is the immersion really gonna drop or is it still gonna be there and be square ^.^. 60 fps looks great to me. maybe I need to see myself but I wanted to hear  other's feedback/
