ZNAPS -The $9 Magnetic Adapter for your mobile devices

Bakgrund

No more broken micro-usb connectors!maybe a bit late as we already got usb type c but whatever

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1041610927/znaps-the-9-magnetic-adapter-for-your-mobile-devic/description

This new (already funded) Kickstarter project is about magnetic adapters for your Iphone (or Ipad) with a lighning-port or your phone (or tablet) with a micro-usb port. The picture below explains how it all works pretty well. But you will obviously find the best information about it right on their kickstarter-page.

Starting at 9 dollars, Znaps will start shipping in december.

I am so buying this.

Yep, same here, but only if it can reliably deliver 2 ampere, I asked them this so I don't get any nasty surprises when they arrive. Surprisingly many usb-cables struggle to deliver 2 amps.

This is actually quite a nice product. Considering my micro usb port on my OnePlus One isn't really the greatest any more I might pick one of these up.

since when was it 61.50?

The package containing 10 of them is 615 bucks but I suppose you could always get away cheaper by buying many of the cheaper packages which doesn't include distributor license and retail packaging and all that stuff.

ohhhhhhhh. thats canadian prices mate. some stuff they have listed is american prices, some is candian. like each individual one is 9$, so it would be ludicrous to pay 615 for 10 of them.

There is a calculator and then you can make a custom pledge, so you don't need to buy multiple cheap packages.

Sounds like patent infringement to me.

Even if they just have to pay the licensing fee they're screwed.

Scroll down to the faq and you'll see this:

If we made the whole cable to connect, it would've violated Apple's patent.

What about this patent from Apple? https://www.google.com/patents/US7311526

Our patent lawyer did a patent search before we started the project. This is one of the reasons why we didn’t develop ZNAPS into a whole charging cable. We haven’t infringed on Apple's patent.

That is actually a good idea. If it actually hits the market I will likely buy one.

This would work sooo nicely in the car. It would be a lot easier to hook up and go. I leave a cable in there, but sometimes its just a small annoyance to plug it in.

I would love it beside the bed as well. Looks like I'm ordering a couple for sure!

Also make sure if you do pledge, do the share option to get a second connector.

Scroll down to the faq and you'll see this:

Would the product not be subject to the Lightning connector licensing fee?

That alone is half the cost of the product.
