1. Budget & Location
US $1100
2. Aim
Mainly towards gaming, planning on playing intense graphics game like Star Citizen, Black Desert, Arma 3, and modified Skyrim

3. Monitors
A single 1080p monitor

4. Peripherals
I need an OS, should I purchase all the hardware and then wait for W10 to release because I would like to use that

5. Why are you upgrading?
On an office PC, integrated graphics, yuh know the usual.

 

I was planning on going something like a 970 msi, 750w, and an i5 4690k. But I'm not sure if I should stick with that sort of build what with the new releases and the (upcoming) 300x series. Anyway, just shoot some builds out I do prefer Nvidia graphics but am still very open to AMD.

 

Also is Prime Day even worth the rush? Like are the savings 10$ off 400$ or are they legit?

Yep you can go straight to 10 when it releases.

And yep, 550w is enough.

You can get Windows from here - https://www.g2a.com/windows-8-professional-32-64-bit-cd-key-global.html (its legit). Read this to learn more about upgrading to Windows 10 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-faq and yes, 550w is enough.

An i3 with a 390, bottleneck maybe? There is also no reason to get a new monitor when you can't fit it in the budget without making pretty big sacrifices and... he has one already.
