After 14 years, I think i'm done with Newegg.

Arct1c0n

You mean like multiple accounts? Amazong / Newegg / NCIX / etc? Then just buy the cheapest you can find from them? If so, no i do that too lol :D

But, been buying mostly everything from Prime now.. the shipping is just so fast, shit literally get's to my house in less than 1-2 days. (Prime Member) And I live really far away from the warehouse, like 2 states lol

Well I use my trustworthy price-comparison Websites to check where i can get it the cheapest component.

I find new websites everytime I search for new parts ;)

The Y.E.T.I. is in progress?Whaaat? (modding aproach&build log)->http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/355618-project-yeti-first-build/

No, having a card with coil whine is not okay. It's a high pitched screeching noise that's louder than the rest of your system combined and will drive you insane.

I'm actually pretty impressed with the way Newegg handled this and will consider buying from them in the future.

Sorry about the hilack but I just have to say there is NO POINT in me getting a prime account the Amazon distribution centre is less than twenty miles from here. Most stuff comes next day or possibly the day after anyway

I actually live in Amazons home city, Seattle and I still don't pay for sales tax but after Neweggs experience, it sound worthwhile for less bullshit

I also agree with many other people in the topic.

While coil whine may drive you insane, it definitely doesn't make the GPU unusable.

Newegg is simply the seller of the product, and they don't have control over the products they receive from manufacturers.

In my opinion, it is very generous to offer another card or store credit, which they did not necessarily have to do.

I work in Customer Service on a daily basis, and I know first-hand that people don't understand policies.

But, like always, they whine and end up getting what they asked for.

Oh well... Happy Gaming!

Sorry, but for $700, absolutely not acceptable. And I worked in retail/customer service for several years. In the end, either you bend over backwards to keep customers or another company will, in this case, Amazon, so they will get my money now, despite the sales tax hit

Personally I think you are being unreasonable, they offered store credit or a new gpu overnight and you refused which I think is fair as a trader. Why didn't you go for a different card?

You're stuck with it: just get a Define R5 or something that would minimize the sound. Or if you wanna go ballistic and charge it back try it: just yesterday I had a customer that tried to charge back an ETF and he did got his money back...for 7 days then Visa said "nope, you can't charge back an ETF you lose the dispute" and because he had an outstanding debt in the meantime got charged a second time for the ETF

So really, you don't wanna play ball with a company like that your cc company might claim they have your back but that's mostly marketing BS: businesses actually win a lot more fucking often than customers.

Come over to Amazon  . I take advantage of prime shipping, no sales tax, 5% off all items, and excellent customer support.

Also that sucks about your graphics card but as others have pointed out, it's technically full functional.

Oh, I'm sorry, then why did you buy the card in the first place?

If you knew you would gamble $700, why was this acceptable at any point in time?

You said, and I quote:

"Other video card makers arn't not having such issues and if you looked at GIgabyte reviews on newegg for the 980 Ti I had, lots of people are having some problem with GPU."

You, in fact, knew the card was having complications but proceeded to buy it after the risk was made aware.

If you don't have policies, companies would not exist.

Anyone could do whatever they wanted and whenever they wanted to do it, which is not how this world works if you haven't noticed.

Amazon can have your business because maybe their policies will suit your fancy or maybe you'll end up making another bashing post about not getting your way.

Happy Gaming! :)
